How to Reach Bangalore & Start Char Dham Yatra

By Air:

Bangalore is well-connected to all major cities in India and abroad via Kempegowda International Airport. From here, you can take a direct flight to Dehradun Airport, which is the closest airport to embark on your Chardham Yatra. The journey takes around 2 hours.

By Train:

The nearest railway station to Bangalore is the Bengaluru Railway Station, connected to all major cities in India. From here, you can take a train to Haridwar or Dehradun, which are the nearest railway stations to start your Char Dham Yatra. Consequently, the journey takes approximately two days.

By Road:

You can also opt for a road trip from Bangalore to Haridwar or Dehradun via NH44. From there, you can hire a taxi or board a bus to reach the starting point of your Char Dham Yatra. Chardham Yatra Route from Bangalore

The trip spans 11 nights and 12 days, taking you from Bangalore to the spiritual cities of Haridwar and Dehradun. Then, we will head to Barkot, Uttarkashi, Gangotri, Guptkashi, Kedarnath, Badrinath, and back to Haridwar.

Day 1: Bangalore to Haridwar or Dehradun

The journey begins with a flight from Bangalore to either Haridwar or Dehradun. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our representative, who will assist you in checking into your hotel. After some rest, you can explore the nearby areas and take a dip in the holy Ganges river. In the evening, attend the famous Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri ghat in Haridwar or Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh.

Day 2: Haridwar or Dehradun to Barkot

After breakfast, we will drive towards Barkot, situated on the banks of the Yamuna River. En route, we will visit Mussoorie and Kempty Falls. Upon reaching Barkot, check into your hotel and rest for the night.

Day 3: Barkot to Yamunotri and back to Barkot

Early morning, we will drive to Jankichatti, which is about 45 km from Barkot. From there, we will trek for about 6 km (one way) to reach Yamunotri temple. After darshan and pooja at the temple dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, we will return to Barkot for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Barkot to Uttarkashi

In the morning, we will drive towards Uttarkashi, situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi river. En route, we will visit Gangnani hot springs and Gangotri temple (if time permits). Upon reaching Uttarkashi, check into your hotel and rest for the night.

Day 5: Uttarkashi to Gangotri and back to Uttarkashi

Early morning, we will drive to Harsil and then proceed towards Gangotri temple. After darshan and pooja at the temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga, we will return to Uttarkashi for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi

After breakfast, we will drive towards Guptkashi via Tehri Dam. Upon reaching Guptkashi, check into your hotel and rest for the night.

Day 7: Guptkashi to Kedarnath

Early morning, we will drive towards Gaurikund. From there, we will trek or take a pony ride (at your own cost) for about 16 km (one way) to reach Kedarnath temple. Afterward, after darshan and pooja at the temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, we will return to Guptkashi for an overnight stay.

Day 8: Guptkashi to Joshimath

After breakfast, we will drive towards Joshimath, a popular pilgrimage town in Uttarakhand. En route, we will visit the Triyuginarayan temple, believed to be the place where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati got married. Upon reaching Joshimath, check into your hotel and rest for the night.

Day 9: Joshimath to Badrinath

Early morning, we will drive towards Badrinath via Govindghat. Subsequently, from there, we will trek or take a pony ride (at your own cost) for about 3 km (one way) to reach Badrinath temple. After darshan and pooja at the temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, we will return to Joshimath for an overnight stay.

Day 10: Joshimath to Rudraprayag

After breakfast, we will drive towards Rudraprayag, situated at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. En route, we will visit Nanda Devi National Park and Chopta, known for its scenic views. Upon reaching Rudraprayag, check into your hotel and rest for the night.

Day 11: Rudraprayag to Haridwar or Dehradun

In the morning, we will drive towards Haridwar or Dehradun. Additionally, en route, we will visit Devprayag, the confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers, which form the Ganges. Upon reaching Haridwar or Dehradun, check into your hotel and rest for the night.

Day 12: Haridwar or Dehradun to Bangalore

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport or railway station for your journey back to Bangalore with unforgettable memories of your Char Dham Yatra from Bangalore.

Best Time to Visit Char Dham Yatra

The best time to visit Char Dham Yatra is from April to June and September to October. During these months, the weather is pleasant and suitable for traveling. The pilgrimage season starts from the end of April and lasts until Diwali in October.
